Sogni di Cristallo it’s an Italian leading agency of light fitting designers, manufacturer and glass master makers based in Venice (Italy). SDC guarantees a formidable connection between the master glassmakers of Venice and the designers from around the world: we work with architects, interior designers, private clients to deliver important B2B contract projects for commercial buildings, restaurants, hotels and custom made projects worldwide. SDC is expanding its business and is seeking to expand the company branch in London.

Role

SDC is looking for both freelance and part-time product designer to work on a diverse range of projects in UK and USA. You’ll be involved in the early concept stages of a brief, right through to delivery of detailed designs, specifications, prototypes and products. You’ll be working within our Italian and UK based team and will be collaborating with clients from all over the world.

Responsibilities:

• light fitting product design – creating concepts, prototypes and detailed designs
• preparing 3D models and shopping drawings for client approval
  supplying documentation and detailed files for mock up production
• creating production and assembly instructions drawings

Requirements:

• proven work/study experience as an product designer or similar role·
• freelance
• excellent communication skills
• fluent with 2D and 3D CAD design tools; AutoCAD and Rhino experience preferred
• good knowledge of Excel (to generate project trackers) and Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
• understanding of manufacturing methods, processes, materials
• passionate about solving problems and identifying opportunities to make things better for people
• happy to work collaboratively within a team and take sole ownership of a given task to drive projects forward
• excellent organisational and time-management abilities
• preferably English/Italian speaker
• London based
