Michael Anastassiades is hiring a junior product design engineer to join its team in London.
Michael Anastassiades Ltd. is a premium UK brand well known for creating contemporary decorative lighting and objects of the highest quality.
We are seeking an industrial engineer (mechanical or electronic engineer, industrial designer) to join the research and development team in London in a junior product design engineer role.
Key responsibilities:
- delivering production drawings, bill of materials and installation instructions
- developing new lighting and mechanical solutions for new products
- upgrading existing products and evolving the collection to improve quality and reduce costs
- researching and optimising manufacturers, methodologies and processes
- certification and testing, ensuring our products meet regulatory standards
Requirements:
- a relevant degree in engineering or design engineering
- excellent ability in 2D and 3D programs (we operate with Fusion 360, but are interested in experience in any other CAD program) and a specific skill set in making production drawings
- some experience in product development with a keen interest in lighting
- a general understanding of lighting, electrical wiring, and LED development
- ability to develop a design from concept form through to manufacturing
- proactive approach in searching and managing suppliers
- a thoughtful attention to detail, excellent organisational methodology, problem-solving attitude and a confident can-do ability in the making
- fluency in English is essential. You must be eligible to work in the UK
The candidate will be able to show their technical skills and design sensibility through examples of production information and drawings. We are looking for a candidate with competencies in understanding high-end lighting manufacturing and mechanical engineering processes.
