We are looking for an architect to join our office in Hornchurch (RM12)
We are looking for an experienced architect with a minimum of five years of UK experience, to run projects from conception to completion.
Based in London, we specialise in commercial and residential refurbishments and extensions, office fit-outs and interior design. We take projects from concept design to delivery; including statutory approvals, tender stages and contract administration.
The practice is currently taking interesting public building projects, in prestigious London Boroughs. We are looking for a candidate who can lead parts of these projects and can demonstrate experience in building regulations, NBS specifications, design coordination, procurement processes, construction methods and detailing. The role will also require working independently, with excellent communication skills, effective leadership and organisational skills to deliver other small to medium residential projects.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate job-running skills through all RIBA Work Stages, including:
- client-facing experience
- excellent knowledge of UK planning, building regulations and current UK building standards
- excellent technical design and detailing skills to prepare working drawings, specification writing and construction documents
- experience with contractors and works on site
- proficiency in preparing site reports and updating construction packages as per site discussions; experience in contract administration is an advantage but not essential
- excellent AutoCAD skills
- skills to problem-solve through research and self-learning
- understanding of project programs and deadlines
- ability to work on multiple projects, excellent timekeeping skills
- must be able to work independently and collaboratively
We are looking for the right candidate to start within a month of agreeing terms. This is a full-time, office-based position although hybrid working can be discussed.
Salary depends on experience.
