Maison Arabella is recruiting a senior interior designer to join its team in London.
Summary
Working closely with the founder/creative director, and associate director, you will take a proactive approach to the delivery of both the design information and the project, the organisation of the design and comfortably lead the project and team from concept through to completion. In addition to possessing first rate design skills, you should be confident in liaising with clients and consultants, managing programme, budgets on daily basis and have experience with motivating the team but also have a positive impact to our growing business.
You will take ownership on live projects, ensure deliverables for each phase are completed with high accuracy and in timely manner and be key support in developing the growing business.

Responsibilities:
- lead project(s) from concept creation through to design development and implementation
- leading the team in conceiving the design of the project to meet client’s program, quality objectives and project constraints
- liaise between the director and design team during the design process
- strong ability to produce detailed and accurate drawing packages including plans, sections, elevations and details and joinery
- strong ability to work with external CGI consultants, effectively communicate changes to deliver the best in imagery to sell to client
- ability to specify and organise finishes, FFE, sanitary and ironmongery schedules
- review contractor shop drawings and communicate with manufacturers effectively and efficiently with understanding of budget constraints or opportunities
- coordinate and liaise effectively consultants including MEP, lighting consultants, etc.
- awareness of manufacturing costs, appropriate materials, hardware selections and have experience value engineering where required or necessary
- undertake site visits or manufacturer visits for purpose of site meetings or construction progress reviews and understanding all the preparation required in the lead up to the meeting
- nurture junior and middle-weight designers and support them in their development
- build and grow existing client and supplier relationships
- ensure studio standards are consistent through all phases of documentation
Skills required:
- minimum eight years’ experience working in high end residential/commercial/hospitality projects in the UK and abroad; must have experience completing / delivering projects
- professional qualification in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- demonstrated design acumen, be an all-rounder, with strong skills in all areas of design as highlighted above (e.g., interior architecture, palette creation and FF&E sourcing)
- experience leading multiple projects and ensuring collaborative approach within the team
- excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- excellent 2D AutoCAD digital skills to produce presentations (Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign and Photoshop), 3D skills (hand sketching or 3D software) and Microsoft Office suite
- outstanding communication skills, fluent in English, both verbal and written
- knowledge of European supplier market essential
- British citizen or appropriate working permit essential
