The role

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic manager to join our Notting Hill store. This is a fantastic opportunity for an applicant with a textile or interiors background to build upon their knowledge and passion in contemporary design, furniture and homewares.

You will be expected to promote sales, advise customers on interior decoration and maintain the high standards of the company. The successful candidate will be highly presentable, both sales and target driven, organised, personable, charismatic – and will bring a calm, positive approach to generating a profitable store performance and a motivated team.

Key to this role is maintaining our visual merchandising to an excellent creative standard and ensuring that our loyal customers receive our trademark exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities:

  • manage day-to-day operations in-store
  • ensure G&G customers are extended the highest levels of customer service
  • provide exceptional leadership and guidance to your team, making sure their personal objectives and the store’s objectives are met
  • deal promptly with customer complaints, liaising with customer services in order to resolve queries/escalate complaints to the right department where necessary
  • be knowledgeable and familiar with all Graham and Green products in order to effectively and accurately answer and assist any customer question or concern
  • drive sales and increase profitability – be aware of the daily, weekly and monthly targets
  • work with the retail and trade operations manager to improve profitability of the store
  • gain in-depth knowledge of MS Navision and ensure team is fully trained
  • maintain the Graham and Green image to the highest standard
  • ensure window displays are installed to company standards
  • responsible for stock management in conjunction with merchandising
  • reassess stock seasonally to maximise sales
  • conduct progress meetings and appraisals for all team members, overseeing their development, coaching and well-being
  • communicate any development/training issues  identified to RTOM
  • make sure the team always adhere to operational standards
  • ensuring all your staff are experts on our products and procedures
  • completing and submitting all necessary records on Iris HR system
  • ensuring all staff maintain Graham and Green standards

General responsibilities:

  • ensuring banking is reconciled accurately and reporting sent to HO daily
  • prepare weekly staff rotas and record all leave and absences on Iris
  • ensure adequate cover for lunches/holidays/sickness
  • delegate daily tasks – hoovering, dusting, cleaning, replenishment, bathroom and kitchen areas and office areas to be kept clean and tidy
  • maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring all occupational and health and safety guidelines are met
  • to have excellent product knowledge, knowledge of suppliers, fabrics, delivery lead times, pricing and history behind product and pass this on to members of staff
  • review systems on an ongoing basis to improve efficiency and service

Experience:

  • an experienced team manager and a natural role model
  • high end customer service and luxury retail experience
  • have an approachable yet authoritative communication style
  • proven sales and customer satisfaction record essential
  • computer savvy, experienced with till systems
  • minimum two years’ managerial experience
  • exceptional organisation skills and natural multi-tasking ability
  • ability to work in a high-paced retail environment and multi-task
  • familiarity with local market desirable
