Senior interior designer
The position will be based in the London office, from where we oversee projects in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
The candidate should have:
- minimum of ten years’ experience in the role of an interior designer or interiors architect, with extensive creative competence
- professional degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
- experience leading interior design projects/packages
- technical knowledge and ability to deliver technical drawing packages, including bespoke detailing
- knowledge of industry practices, local codes and construction details
- excellent understanding of high-end design and custom design processes
- site experience– having followed projects from concept through to construction
- extensive knowledge of furniture and finishes
- experience of managing and mentoring a team
- excellent design, presentation and graphics skills
- passion for keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
- the ability to visualise concepts and confidently explain and present them to others
- interest in cultural, commercial and hospitality sectors; prior experience in these sectors is a plus
The candidate will be responsible for working closely with Head of Interiors on the following:
- processing and developing initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with project team
- researching and developing innovative interior environments including concepts, design development and detail design (including visuals, modelling, rendering, technical design documentation)
- liaising with outside suppliers, contractors and specialists
- coordinate internally with teams, as well as externally with consultants and suppliers
- presenting ideas both internally and externally
Essential skills:
- excellent eye for design and aesthetics
- strong organisational and communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal
- ability to create programs, work to deadlines and manage budgets
- proactive and can work both on individual tasks and within a project team
- a desire to push the firm ahead of its competition
- enthusiastic and flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude self-motivated, highly organised, detail-oriented and team player who can quickly adapt and self-manage time
- calm under pressure
- ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-moving environment
- flexible and able to adapt to deadlines
- strong proficiency in the following programs essential: Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, MSOffice
- must have the existing right to work in the UK
