Sales and office manager - maternity cover
Tom Kirk Lighting is currently seeking a sales and office manager for maternity cover at its London studio.
Based in south-east London, Tom Kirk Lighting specialises in the design and production of decorative light fittings for residential and commercial interiors.
We are looking for a sales and office manager for maternity cover to join our studio. You will be working with architects, interior designers and private individuals on a range of projects in the UK and internationally.
The successful applicant will ideally come from the creative industries and have a passion for contemporary design and interiors. We are looking for somebody with great attention to detail and an inquisitive, enthusiastic approach. You will be well organised and capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously.
The contract is for a minimum of 12 months, commencing in January 2018.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- you will be the first point of contact by telephone and email
- ensuring that orders are processed promptly; liaising with the production team
- managing freight and courier accounts to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of our products
- develop existing accounts and maintain strong client relationships
- maintain a comprehensive database of sales, leads, opportunities and provide timely follow up
- monitoring stock levels and managing supplier orders
- representing Tom Kirk Lighting at trade fairs and industry events in the UK and overseas
- managing the quotation process and supplying clients with necessary technical documents
- after sales care and queries
- assisting with client meetings in the studio
- answering day to day press enquiries and organising product loans
- ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipment
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will:
- have a minimum two years’ experience with a similar design-led company- in lighting or furniture sales
- be familiar with import and export procedures and dealing with courier and freight companies
- have a friendly, professional and confident manner
- be an excellent communicator
- have a high level of numeracy and literacy in English and the ability to work in the UK
- be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- have excellent organisational and time management skills; prioritising and completing tasks
- be proficient in Microsoft Office
- working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite useful, but not essential
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, based in London SE21.
Remuneration according to skills and experience.
