Ackroyd Lowrie has a vacancy for a technically-focused project architect or senior technician to join its team in London.

Ackroyd Lowrie are a fast-growing, innovative boutique design practice based near London Fields, East London. We use 3D printing and the latest VR technology to realise our clients’ dreams. We work across a range of sectors and will provide excellent experience to the right candidate. We are looking for candidates with excellent technical knowledge, who can provide leadership and motivation to a vibrant, young team. We believe in supporting our staff to reach their full potential. Required experience:

  • must have run projects or been a key team member from RIBA stages from three to seven
  • must have client-facing experience and ability to manage clients, meet and negotiate with planners, and project manage a scheme with minimal supervision
  • must have the ability to run multiple projects and manage complex problems
  • good organisational, management and people skills
  • on-site experience working with contractors, dealing with RFI’s and disputes and contract administration experience is an advantage but not essential
  • working on contract values typically between £3m and £25m within Residential, Mixed-use and master planning sectors

This is a permanent position.

Required skills:

  • minimum of three years’ job running experience
  • flair for design and excellent technical design skills
  • strong communicator with the ability to manage fast-moving projects and deadlines
  • manage projects and manage their own time and others
  • produce construction details and problem-solve
  • software skills must include: ArchiCAD or Revit, AL use ArchiCAD and full training will be provided if required but an understanding of BIM is essential
  • excellent communication skills across the board are required to interact with our clients, managers and team members
  • ability to take responsibility when required and meet project deadlines
  • an interest in innovative technology
