Project manager

Heatherwick Studio is seeking a project manager to join its team in London.
As project manager you will be facilitating and managing the workflow and programme of high-profile, technically challenging and creative designs.
Considering the variety of scale and complexity of projects, you will work in tandem with the design team and you will work closely with the project leader and the technical leader supporting them and the team through to
project delivery.
You will be participating in the programming and delivery from conception to completion and potentially post-occupation of projects. You will play an important role in supporting the project team in the overall resource and budget management of the project whilst providing an excellent level of professional service to the client and partner organisations.
Experience and knowledge:
- complex international design projects, with a focus on architectural projects
- understanding of the legal conditions that apply to a creative design studio
- capacity to deal with both high-level and detailed information and to strategise a commercial response to clients
- demonstrable experience in negotiating contracts in the UK and internationally. Key areas of interest would be in the United States, the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, China and Singapore
- experience working with professional advisers i.e. accountants, insurance brokers and legal advisers
Skills and qualities:
- a background as an architect/architectural designer
- a solid background as a deputy project manager/project manager in architecture/design
- design-led background; comfortable working in partnership with designers
- demonstrable understanding of the creative design process through all work stages
- demonstrable understanding of project planning and project monitoring
- experience working on large-scale international (mixed-use) projects
