Senior creative designer

Artichoke is seeking a senior creative designer to join its design team in Somerset, UK.
Artichoke was founded on the belief that brilliantly designed interiors and joinery can immeasurably improve a client’s experience of living in a period building. As specialists in interior architecture and joinery design, we use wood to shape the character and function of rooms into distinctive and liveable spaces. Our state-of-the-art workshop and creative design studio are in Cheddar, Somerset, within easy reach of Bath, Bristol and the M5.
We are looking for an experienced and driven senior creative designer with the ability to produce historically relevant interiors through effective design communication. In the first instance, the successful candidate will be generating designs and documenting client presentations, progressing to leading a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines and delegating design tasks.
Responsibilities:
- take a brief and develop outstanding concept designs
- drive design development across multiple projects
- clearly express and communicate design strategy
- visualise ideas through hand and digital media
- lead a team in producing client presentations
Skills:
- extensive experience in and a passion for historical interior architecture, joinery and furniture
- evidence of responding to a brief through sensible space planning
- pragmatic with the ability to convincingly justify design decisions
- great understanding of materials, finishes and supplier knowledge
- project leadership and client relationship building
- excels in hand drawn visualisation
- proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, 3D modelling
- seven-plus years of professional experience and a portfolio of projects worked on at a high level
