Part 2 architectural assistant/technologist
at Studio PDP

PDP London are seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant/technologist to join its team in London.

We are particularly interested in candidates with retrofit and sustainable/low energy design experience.

Key responsibilities:

to assist the development of the architects design by analysing building regulations, space requirements, survey information, reports and other technical documents
preparation, coordination and communication of technical information including drawings, reports and schedules and specification
technical detailing
ensure the required statutory regulations are met
obtaining, recording and organising information
calculating U-values and assisting the team with envelope technical details
preparation of regulatory applications
to weigh up technical problems and provide detailed design solutions
design stage risk assessments and monitor health and safety in design
liaise between members of the design and construction team
on site inspection of work, and dealing with contractor queries
keeping up to date with new construction methods, materials and technology
internal audit of drawings and specifications carried out at relevant stages of the project

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

experience of using Revit to a high standard along with other software packages
experience in retrofit
an understanding of low energy design
PassivHaus knowledge is a plus
knowledge of building regulations
manual drawing skills
the ability to think laterally
a high level of attention to detail and ability to check and correct your own and other’s work accurately
good at following things through to completion, with consistency
a strong work ethic, which is demonstrated in your personal approach and also communicated to others
able to work to deadlines
to be able to work on your own initiative
