Hyde + Hyde Architects is seeking an experienced architect to join its team in Cardiff, UK.
We are looking for a talented, registered architect with at least three years of experience to join our team of innovators and problem-solvers.

Our work is made in a warm, authentic company culture that strives for collective rigour. The position is both remote and studio based. Meeting up in our Cardiff studio when not travelling across the UK and Europe to various projects on site.
As an experienced architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of some of the most cutting-edge and ground breaking buildings in the world. You’ll work closely with our team of engineers, designers and builders to create structures that push the boundaries of what’s possible, in addition to direct client liaison.
To thrive in this role, you must have a passion for design and a thirst for knowledge, self-improvement, an unwavering commitment to quality, and a deep understanding of the latest sustainable methodologies. You must also be self-motivated and happy to work independently and as part of a team.
Candidate requirements:
- three years’ experience as a project architect (ideally working on award winning private residences)
- ability to run projects on site, develop detailed drawings and specifications with a robust knowledge of project coordination, contract administration and domestic architectural regulations
- strong design skills and an interest in materials, construction methods and detailing
- proactive, organised and diligent approach to work
- desire to learn, grow and push boundaries in alignment with our studio culture
- excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- motivated by occasional travel to national and international projects
Proficiencies:
- client presentation skills
- hand drawing, sketching
- developing designs from concepts to 1:5 details
- Vectorworks (2D + 3D)
- Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign and Photoshop)
- SketchUp
Salary dependent on experience.
