K2 is looking for a junior architectural/experiential designer to join its team in New York.

We are looking for a junior architectural and experiential designer to join our NY location and help bring these experiences to life across the US.

Job description:

The junior architectural and experiential designer is responsible for contributing to all aspects of design projects from conception through to completion. This individual will be assigned tasks in the context of the big picture project goals and are expected to increase their responsibility, ownership and autonomy over time.

Responsibilities within the role include assisting and leading in conceptual design phases, design development, project reviews, project communications, quality of design control, scheduling, and project reporting and budgeting. This individual will work closely within the K2 America design and production teams reporting to the head of design. This individual must be creative and technical with good time management skills and experience working in interior design, architecture and production design.

Responsibilities:

  • develop design concepts and help translate existing luxury brand concepts into new locations
  • work closely with the head of design, senior designers, and the production team to develop and realize design concepts
  • create elevated spatial design experiences for luxury clientele of all kinds
  • create renderings and visuals that clearly and accurately communicate designs to clients
  • build out client facing decks for design round presentations
  • assist the production team and head of design in communicating with freelancers, vendors and fabricators
  • manage project budgets, schedules, and material sourcing
  • technical design and drafting skills with general knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques and materials
  • ability to produce a set of construction drawings for fabrication
  • time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • material research and sample board display creation, special interest in sustainable approaches welcomed

Requirements:

    • over three years of experience in interior designer, production design or architecture and bachelor/ master degree from an accredited school
    • the ideal candidate is passionate about design, culture and art and has a well rounded design lens
    • detail oriented, organized, and a team player
    • takes initiative and has the ability to work under tight timelines
    • exceptional communication skills including both verbal and visual means of communication
    • proficiency in 3D modeling and realistic rendering ability using software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Enscape or similar as well as the Adobe Creative Suite
