Project Architect – sustainable/low energy design
at Studio PDP

PDP is seeking a project architect to join its team in London.

PDP London are looking for a project architect with experience in detailing and delivery to work on an exciting landmark retrofit project in London.

We are particularly interested in candidates with retrofit and sustainable/low energy design experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • develop designs in consideration of building regulations, space requirements, survey information, reports and other technical documents
  • preparation, coordination and communication of technical information
  • technical detailing
  • obtaining, recording and organising information
  • calculating U-values and assisting the team with envelope technical details
  • preparation of regulatory applications
  • to weigh up technical problems and provide detailed design solutions
  • design stage risk assessments and monitor health and safety in design
  • liaise between members of the design and construction team
  • on site inspection of work, and dealing with Contractor queries
  • keeping up to date with new construction methods, materials and technology
  • internal audit of drawings and specifications carried out at relevant stages of the project

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • experience of using Revit to a high standard along with other software packages
  • experience in retrofit
  • an understanding of low energy design
  • PassivHaus knowledge is a plus
  • an understanding of building services, MVHR renewables and ASHPs.
  • knowledge of building regulations
  • PHI certification desirable
  • manual drawing skills
  • the ability to think laterally
  • a high level of attention to detail and ability to check and correct your own and other’s work accurately
  • good at following things through to completion, with consistency
  • a strong work ethic, which is demonstrated in your personal approach and also communicated to others
  • able to work to deadlines
  • to be able to work on your own initiative
