Beaumont is offering a paid internship for experienced students or junior architectural/interior designers in London.

Position: design intern
Reporting to: design manager
Location: City of London and West End

Job profile

As a design intern at Beaumont, you will play an important role with assisting the design team in the delivery of drawing packages for all Beaumont projects, new and existing. The ideal candidate should have an excellent design flair, and a good understanding of the construction process. This role will specifically assist on office fit outs and refurbishment projects.

Key responsibilities

  • assisting with the construction design details for our projects. Organise and maintain project files
  • office and administration support for all projects and the lead designer of each project
  • assemble plans and documents
  • obtain information on feasibility and quality of proposed materials
  • help design team with project and contract administration, including evaluation of work for compliance with plans
  • attend site visits and progress/project meetings when requested
  • assist with preparation of full packages of technical design, tender and construction drawings from general arrangements through to section details

Competencies for the role

  • a student with a knowledge in architecture, or have an architectural background
  • knowledge of how to read plans is essential
  • advanced relevant IT and administrative skills; AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office
  • able to multi-task under pressure
  • personable with a positive nature
  • innovative
  • a good eye for detail is essential
  • flexible
  • enthusiastic and highly self-motivated team player
