Junior to mid-weight interior designer
at TEN London

TEN is hiring a junior to mid-weight interior designer with commercial residential and hospitality project experience to join its expanding team in London.

Who we are:

TEN is a London-based, specialist residential and hospitality interior design studio. We are a close-knit, fast-growing, collaborative and creative team working on exciting UK-based projects focused on the living sector. Working on large and medium-scale projects with some of the leading residential and hospitality developers in the UK, we deliver concept-driven, exciting, award-winning and time-tested spaces.

The role:

We’re looking for a talented and detail-orientated junior to mid-weight interior designer who thrives within a team and faces every challenge with enthusiasm and dedication to bring a project from ideation to completion.

You will work closely with the creative director and other team members to produce design solutions which inspire and push boundaries. You will assist in producing pitches, design concepts, detailed drawing packages, material specifications and FF&E, working across all project stages.  You will also take responsibility of preparing high quality  and well thought out design documentation for key stakeholders.

Applicants should be confident with the interior design process from design development, drawing package production, materials research and selection, through to production and installation, with site experience being an advantage.

Within the studio, we utilise multiple tools & programmes so knowledge of Vectorworks, Revit, SketchUp/D5 along with InDesign and Photoshop is a must.

Main duties:

  • work closely with the senior team, assisting on multiple projects during all stages of the design process from concept to handover
  • create, prepare and present design concepts for the review including immersive and exciting moodboards
  • develop detail design drawing packages (bespoke furniture, lighting, joinery, layouts) and schedules
  • ensure documents and presentations are filed in accordance to company standards
  • source and specify finishes, fixtures, furnishings, fabrics, lighting, hardware and accessories
  • ensure regular reviews at key design stages with senior designers and creative director
  • prepare high quality pitches and presentations
  • assist with FF&E install
  • maintain sample library and manage relationships with supplier
  • design research and development,  introduce new concepts, ideas and products to the team

Requirements and qualifications:

  • bachelor’s degree in Interior design/interior architecture
  • Two to three years of UK based experience in residential or hospitality design
  • understanding and experience of RIBA stages 1-5
  • self-motivated with the ability to collaborate within a diverse team
  • thrives in a fast paced dynamic, creative environment with ability to multi-task and prioritise work to tight deadlines
  • experience of producing interior design drawing packages
  • proactive approach to work and a team player
  • confident communicator and all round problem-solver
  • ability to present & clearly express your ideas to the wider team
  • knowledge of materials and key industry trends

 Software requirements:

  • Vectorworks, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Modelling, D5
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, In-Design, Acrobat, Illustrator)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
