Post-Part 2 architectural assistant

Design Principle Studio is hiring a post-Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in Northamptonshire, UK.
Design Principle Studio are a busy, Northamptonshire based practice specialising in education, conservation and high-end residential projects. Our project base ranges from multi-million pound master-planning exercises, through medium sized, mainly educational projects with a contract value range from £1-5m, large one-off houses and a wide range of smaller projects.
We are looking for a post RIBA Part 2 qualified architectural assistant, (only UK qualified RIBA Part 2 assistants, or exact equivalent will be considered for the role) to work within project delivery team, including:
- client liaison
- concept design and presentation
- planning
- detailed design
- low-carbon design and retrofit decarbonisation
- project management
- tender
- contract administration
Salary: circa £30-35k dependent upon experience (plus benefits).
The successful candidate will need to have excellent presentation skills, and be:
- creative
- very well organised
- a good, systematic communicator
- confident to operate in a diverse and demanding working environment
A good working knowledge of the following will be essential:
- AutoCAD (Lt)
- Adobe creative suite
- planning legislation
- building regulations
- IT systems (windows 365, MS Office applications etc)
- dogs (and their occasionally grumpy owners)
A good working knowledge of the following will be essential:
- JCT Contract forms
- Revit
- NBS Corus
The office is fully remote. However, we are looking at the options for re-establishing a physical office (probably in North Northamptonshire) as a base for operation.
Our team are based across Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, and we are not planning to go back to predominantly office-based working. Consequently, the successful candidate will need to be comfortable with flexible hybrid working and working on projects in a digital working environment (lots of meetings on Teams and in cafes across the East Midlands).
