Cook Haffner Architecture Program is seeking a senior project architect to join its team in Belgrade, Serbia.
Driven by architect and futurologist Peter Cook and co-founded with Erlend Blakstad Haffner and Branko Belaćević, the Cook Haffner Architecture Program (CHAP) has an experimental approach with a focus on culture, the city and how space functions. Our work addresses the changing role of future cities, technology, and society, with an inclusive approach and ambition to create engaging architectural stories where community, dialogue and participation take centre stage.
CHAP is experiencing rapid growth and we have a pipeline of interesting projects that require a project architect with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification professional experience throughout all project phases to join our team in CHAP Belgrade with a possible remote working arrangement. The position requires full or part-time presence in Belgrade, Serbia.
As senior architect in CHAP Belgrade you will:
- lead a design team of three to ten people with a line management role reporting to the partner in charge
- management and mentorship of team members with a strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
- steer the design development process from pre-concept through schematic and lead design reviews
- assure deliverables produced in accordance with CHAP standards are based on the design direction of the partner in charge
- communication, coordination and management of consultants, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies and approving bodies to meet overall project objectives
- regular international travel for client-facing presentations or internal design coordination
- assess and develop recommendations for new potential projects
- assist commercial bids and coordinate with the partners and development team
- managep project budgets and resourcing with project coordinators
Experience and qualifications:
- 10-plus years of professional experience focused on conceptual, schematic, and guardianship work stages
- preference for working experience in KSA
- strong conceptual, graphic, and design skills illustrated in a comprehensive portfolio
- excellent communication skills, including experience in presenting and coordinating projects through all phases to client and consultant teams
- confidence working collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment
- exceptionally skilled at problem-solving and design work, with the ability to handle issues that come up on-site independently
- ability to liaise with consultants and contractors to assess design solutions and guarantee the integrity of the final design
- Rhino, Grasshopper and Adobe Suite skills
- knowledge and experience working on Revit/BIM projects
- proactive leader with good communication skills and team spirit
- fluency in English
