We are currently seeking a senior acoustic consultant to work on a wide range of high-profile design projects as part of our acoustics team based in our London studio.
About the role
You will be exposed to the full breadth of our disciplines helping to deliver the same high standard of comprehensive and integrated design services that has seen BDP become a leading practice.
You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers and designers to help create successful acoustic design solutions. By undertaking a variety of technical duties on a range of projects across multiple sectors, you will develop your skills and experience in a supportive and friendly environment, while making a key contribution to the acoustics team.
As an experienced senior acoustic consultant, you will be running your own projects from inception to hand-over, providing guidance and mentoring to more junior team members, as assistance to senior team leaders and management.
About you
Qualifications and experience
The successful candidate will be qualified to an appropriate level and/or have a demonstrable understanding of sound and acoustics and hold membership of the IOA.
Experience would preferably focus on building and architectural acoustics across a wide range of sectors; additionally, some experience in environmental acoustics would be beneficial.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to develop acoustics design concepts from internal briefings through to the completion of a project, liaising with architects, engineers, project and design managers and clients to achieve the best results as part of a holistic and sustainable design approach.
Skills
You will be able to manage multiple projects with differing deadlines and so manage your time effectively, along with that of support staff assisting on your projects.
You will be a logical thinker who uses reasoning alongside your experience to provide design solutions which balance with wider architectural and engineering needs and enable you to interpret and analyse data and communicate conclusions in technical reports and client presentations.
As an enthusiastic and communicative team player, you will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and backgrounds, including the design team, clients and external consultants.
Skills in Microsoft, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, REVIT/BIM and specialist acoustics modelling software (including CadnaA, ODEON, INSUL) are desired.
