Echlin is hiring an interior designer to join its team in London.
Echlin is looking for an experienced middleweight interior designer to join our successful team in Central London. You will be working alongside the existing team of qualified architects, designers and project managers.

Echlin is an award-winning multi-disciplinary studio specialising in residential architecture, interiors and property development. Recently named amongst the Top 21 British Interior Designers to know by Elle Decoration, our ethos focuses on personal experience, wellbeing and craftsmanship which is explored through careful maximisation of space, materiality, natural light and connection to nature. This is an ideal opportunity to get involved in some very exciting and notable London projects seeing them through to completion
Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- strong experience within high end residential design, including site experience
- ability to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings
- strong project management skills with proven experience of running projects
- excellent industry knowledge for proposing and sourcing products and materials
- ability to compile detailed schedules and specifications
- ability to confidently coordinate and collaborate with contractors and other members of the design team
- confident written and verbal skills, as well as solid presentation skills
- excellent design, drawing and CAD skills
- proficiency operating AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, InDesign and Rhino. Knowledge of Esti is a bonus
- proven advanced understanding of joinery detailing
In the role you will be expected to take on the following core responsibilities:
- lead and create initial FF&E concept designs, having fully understood the project brief and obtained all relevant information
- work closely with wider design team assisting with architectural material selections and room elevations
- assist the wider team with spatial planning and design of projects with a particular focus to FF&E
- source and research new suppliers, ascertain suitability and develop Echlin’s supplier database
- negotiating, coordinating and liaising with suppliers to ensure that all specifications and deliveries are meeting deadlines and on budget
- coordinating the specification with the drawing packages
- specifying FF&E onprojects and creating FF&E schedules with accurate costs
- procuring FF&E and taking responsibility for purchase orders, specification sheets and control books
- creating physical and digital mood boards
- attending meetings and presenting FF&E concepts to clients and the Echlin senior leadership/development team.
- ensuring that the FF&E library/sample area is managed and maintained
- reporting to the creative director and architect partners
- overseeing the installation of projects, ensuring accessories and styling requirements are met and overseeing professional photography, where required
- attending showrooms and events on a regular basis to promote Echlin, making new contacts and keeping up to date with products and design trends
