Job description
We are seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our dynamic multidisciplinary design studio in a junior designer role – Part 1 architect/interior designer.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for creative thinking, an eye for detail and a strong desire to contribute to the designs and execution of projects.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an emerging design professional to collaborate with experienced designers on prestigious projects that push the boundaries of design.
The candidate will work from our central London show apartment where we specialise in bespoke design projects, ranging from Mayfair jewellery stores to high-end residential properties.
Key responsibilities:
Conceptualisation and design development:
- collaborate with senior team members to develop innovative design concepts for high-end residential projects
- assist in the production of conceptual sketches, renderings and mood boards to communicate design ideas to clients and team members
- participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative input to design discussions
- assist in space planning and layout design to optimise functionality and aesthetics of residential interiors
- generate 2D and 3D drawings to visualise spatial arrangements and design solutions
- research and recommend materials, finishes, furnishings and fixtures that align with the project’s high-end residential design aesthetic
Design documentation:
- assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections and details
- contribute to the development of design documentation sets for client presentations and construction purposes
- participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively conveying design concepts and solutions
- collaborate with external consultants, contractors and suppliers to coordinate design details and project execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture (Part 1)/interior design or a relevant design degree
- strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- excellent creative thinking, problem-solving and design visualisation skills
- effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for client presentations and team collaboration
- a portfolio showcasing relevant design projects and creative thinking abilities
