Junior to mid-weight interior designer
at Cherie Lee Interiors
Cherie Lee Interiors is hiring an interior designer to join the team in Hertfordshire, UK.
We are looking for a designer with two to four years experience of high end residential design. The successful candidate will be part of a small team, working across a moderate number of projects collectively.
Key responsibilities will include:
- being part of the briefing process with clients and the creation of concept designs
- researching, selecting/designing hard finishes, bathrooms, kitchen and joinery designs
- FF&E designs
- sourcing samples
- producing presentations for client review
- drawing furniture layouts and elevations
- producing technical drawings for sanitary ware, tile layouts, lighting, joinery, etc
- scheduling of finishes and FF&E
- liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers
- working with artisan manufacturers on bespoke pieces of joinery/furniture
- signing off supplier joinery and freestanding furniture drawings
- sourcing art and decorative items
- some onsite coordination and installation
- site progress visits and some project management
- assisting with photography of completed projects
From time to time there may be some assistance required with procurement but this is not the designers primary role.
Requirements:
- experience working from concept design to installation at high end residential projects
- have a good understanding of colours, textures and materials
- experience with drawing software, Vectorworks preferable but not essential
- experience with Estimac and Photoshop useful but not essential
- good understanding of joinery and bespoke furniture detailing
- good industry knowledge for product sourcing
- creativity and a passion for interiors

- strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently under the pressure of deadlines
- high level of professionalism and confidence in dealing with clients, suppliers and contractors, and ability to adjust to the requirements of each relationship
- ability to use and show initiative and to find creative solutions to problems
Software:
- Vectorworks, Key Note, Estimac, Photoshop, Indesign, all desirable
- drawing software experience essential
- Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel
Location
The role is based at the Cherie Lee Interiors studio in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. The role is full time and the normal working hours are Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm.
