Amalia Boier is hiring an interior designer to join its team in London, UK.
We seek an enthusiastic and passionate junior to mid-weight interior designer with a minimum of one to two years of post-graduate experience in high-end residential to join our growing team.
We are looking for somebody with solid knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and EstiMac, who is confident taking projects from concept through to completion, being involved in both technical aspects and design of all FF&E elements.
You will be reporting and working closely with our director and be intimately involved in the design and procurement of various projects. Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must.
Requirements:
- must be an all-rounder with a good understanding of both FF&E design and technical design
- must be a passionate, loyal individual and lover of design, architecture and genuinely eager to learn and improve skills
- good knowledge of high-end suppliers
- proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; rendering skills is a plus
- proficient in AutoCAD – ability to develop floor plans and elevations
- proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook – must be prompt and demonstrate strong communication skills when responding to emails
- experience selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials and finishes
- experience with quotes, proposals, budgets, purchase orders and purchasing process
- must be great at client facing
- have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humour
- ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- eager to learn and grow with the firm
- ability to work well independently and in a small team
Responsibilities:
- create client presentations, including mood boards and visuals
- create and annotate floor plans and elevations (SketchUp, AutoCAD)
- produce design intent schemes, visuals and drawings
- liaise with suppliers – quotes, orders, logistics
- create and update spreadsheets: procurement/inventories/budgets
Qualifications:
- BA Hons in interior design and/or architecture or similar equivalent degree
- excellent English, verbal and written communication skills
- optional: a UK driving licence
