Job description
The senior interior design project manager will be responsible for identifying, planning and managing ongoing and upcoming projects in collaboration with the creative operation director. The goal is to ensure the successful completion of projects within approved scope, timeline and budget. The role involves close monitoring of  project schedules, billing projections, resource allocation, budgets, expenditures, consultant coordination as well as contract scope and fees.
Responsibilities
Operational accountability:
- evaluating upcoming projects, drafting contract scope and terms, identifying risks and creating project schedules and work plans
- managing schedules, allocating resources, prioritising tasks and ensuring delivery of work
- tracking and managing the financial performance of projects, from proposal to final payment to ensure profitability of the project
- documenting regular client meetings and external project team meetings
- providing weekly project updates and raising any issues or obstacles that require escalated resolution
Technical leadership:
- understanding the key phases of the architectural, interior design and production process
- conducting thorough reviews of drawings
- clear and timely communication of information to the project design team
- training and mentoring team members, on best practice sharing from onsite experience
Construction administration:
- preparing and negotiating with clients and consultants’ proposals, fees, schedules and contracts
- collaborating with the production manager to prepare preliminary budgets for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E)
- acting as the main point of contact between clients and A Work Of Substance, ensuring timely response to client enquiries and team’s needs for clarifications
- conducting mockup reviews and site visits
- implementing value strategies to deliver projects within budget while maintaining design integrity
- reviewing shop drawings and samples, and responding to requests for information from the team
- fostering commercial relationships to promote A Work Of Substance preferred vendors with clients’ procurement teams
- developing and maintaining successful client relationships for repeat business
Company leadership:
- driving project management process improvement initiatives
- contributing to the implementation of the company strategy, goals, policies and process improvement within the team
- working towards creating a strong, well-run company that offers a fulfilling work environment
Requirements:
- ten year’s experience in project management, experience with managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity
demonstrated success in overseeing the financial aspects of projects, generating comprehensive reports, projections and analysis - skilled in negotiating and evaluating contract scope, fees and schedule with multiple parties, even in the face of conflicting priorities
- familiarity with building codes, design constructability and building systems
- experience with project management roles, software and industry standard
- strong ability to manage multiple partners, both internal and external, including vendors, contractors and consultants
- proven organisational ability to manage multiple projects at a time under a high-speed environment, while paying attention to detail
- comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment with changing requirement
- strong written and verbal communication; Cantonese is a plus
- well-organised and reliable, as well a team player and a great collaborator
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong interpersonal skills
