Freelance project architect

Yoko Kloeden Design is looking for a freelance project architect to help design and deliver home refurbishment projects in London.
The candidate must have at least five year’s practical experience working in London residential projects with a proven track record of designing and drawing from concept design, planning drawings, tender documents and onsite information. This role is for you if you have been trained as an architect but have developed deeper interest in a crafted interior space.

Our projects are boutique residential home renovation and refurbishment which often encompass, architecture, interior and garden.
Job description:
- produce feasibility studies for the studio’s design projects that include planning study, layout options and project cost estimates
- produce planning drawings with pre-application consultation if necessary
- produce tender documents that include technical drawings and schedules for buildings as well as kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke joinery
- provide buildable site solutions during RIBA stage 5
- check that thorough administrative records are being maintained

Skills required:
- practical knowledge on the UK building regulations, planning requirements and technical standards in residential projects
- extremely proficient in AutoCAD a must, SketchUp or other 3D software
- proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- skills to produce well-thought out space layouts with creative flair
- excellent time management a must
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Education and experience:
- five-plus years experience working as an architect (RIBA Part 2 at least) in UK residential projects
- experience in designing and drawing from feasibility study, concept design, planning drawings, tender documents, construction sets and onsite information
- experience in working remotely with a close-knit design team
- practical site experience to find buildable design solutions
