Hawkins\Brown has an opportunity for a junior interior designer to join its studio in London.

HawkinsBrown are looking for a highly talented, creative interior designer with originality, flair and a proven track record of designing and delivering commercial, educational and residential projects. Successful candidates will be offered a vibrant, creative working environment and the opportunity to work closely with architects and designers in a multidisciplinary studio.

Candidates must have a passion for design and culture, an appreciation and understanding of materials and detail, as well as technical know how. They must be adept in all stages of the design process, from initial concept stage and presenting to clients, through to project administration, construction detailing and on site implementation.

They must be able to demonstrate confident client handling skills, an ability to collaborate with fellow interior designers, architectural teams, artists and other design consultants, combined with an ability to organize and manage their own workload. A good understanding of current lighting and sustainability design and practise would also be advantageous.

Further requirements:

  • candidates should have a minimum of three years professional experience
  • BA Hons or MA interior architecture qualification (or equivalent)
  • passion and enthusiasm for contemporary design
  • excellent presentation, conceptual and visualising skills, whether freehand or computer aided
  • proficiency in 2 and 3D Computer programmes, InDesign, and Revit
    Strong communication skills both verbal and written
