Cityförster is looking for a landscape architect to join its teams in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Cityförster is an international architecture and urban design firm with offices across Europe. Our Rotterdam team comprises of eight young and driven professionals from a variety of backgrounds. They work alongside people from our global network every day on projects that improve the quality of life in cities and make our urban environments greener and more appealing. We challenge ourselves to push boundaries, find smart solutions, and address social issues from a special perspective.
Our Rotterdam team is currently involved mainly in projects located in Northwest and Southeast Europe and China. Since we have a need for the specific skills, talents and perspective of landscape architects in a growing number of our projects, Cityförster Rotterdam is currently looking for an experienced, enterprising and highly ambitious landscape architect with a broad outlook.
In addition to being interested in hearing from experienced landscape architects with expertise in urban design, we also welcome applications from ambitious landscape architects just starting out in their careers.

- drawing on your professional expertise and wide-ranging interests, you will develop creative plans and visions at various scales and level of detailing for our domestic and international clients. You successfully combine a talent for design with a knack for finding high-impact and sustainable solutions
- in each new project, you are able to convey your enthusiasm for your innovative designs to others. This is the easy part, since at this stage you have listened carefully to their needs and ideas and have successfully translated these into a strong and innovative design. You also give them the opportunity to experience the design before the builders even break ground – which is where your proficiency in design and presentation software (AutoCAD, Adobe CS and GIS) comes in
- managing project teams (generally multidisciplinary, including both employees and external parties and including also external landscape architects) with a clear goal in mind, you can achieve maximum results by understanding, and keeping track of, the various interests involved. You are supported in this process by your professional expertise, ability to find alternative solutions, and talent for teamwork
- you are routinely complimented on your designs and the readability of your reports and other documents, which are brief and concise, well-written, and persuasive. Your business acumen allows you to be budget-minded when working on projects
- you always keep an eye out for opportunities, and successfully market our portfolio to clients and prospects. You will find the domestic and international network of which you will form part to be a great support throughout
Our requirements
You’re willing to commit to Cityförster for a minimum of 24 hours a week and share your experience, creativity and enthusiasm with clients and peers. In addition to holding a bachelor or master in a landscape architecture related study, an excellent written and spoken command of English (and preferably Dutch) and proficiency in various design and presentation software applications are essential to being successful in this role.
