Herzog & de Meuron is hiring a software developer to join its team in Basel, Switzerland.
Herzog & de Meuron is an international architecture firm with its head office in Basel and subsidiaries in Denmark, Germany, France, Hong Kong, the UK and the USA.
To complete our team in Basel, we are looking for an experienced software developer for the technical lead of our VR and AR projects (100%).
You will be in charge for the technical development of in-house VR and AR experiences from concept to deployment, in collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members: architects, exhibition designers, UX designers, visual artists and technologists. For larger projects, you will be in charge for the technical coordination with third-party production studios.
Your key tasks:
- programming and technical development of custom VR/AR applications with Unity or Unreal Engine
- collaboration and coordination with HdM design teams (architects, exhibition designers, curators)
- technical coordination with the Design Technologies (DT) Team (visual artists, asset designers, UX designers)
- keep in touch and implement technological innovations and standards in a fast-paced XR industry
Your profile:
- deep knowledge and interest in VR and AR technologies, and Mixed Reality projects in general
- motivated to develop new forms of spatial experiences and creative applications of VR/AR
- proactive and self-organized, with a hands-on approach to technical challenges
- three plus years’ of proven experience in the development of Unity or Unreal Engine VR/AR projects
- proven experience on the optimization of VR/AR applications for a variety of devices: Quest2, HoloLens, Apple ARkit, Android ARCore
- proficiency on C#, C++, JS, and other languages as needed
- fluent in English; German or French is an advantage
