Who we are looking for

Nike seeks a senior designer for retail fixtures and environments who will support consumer-led global retail concepts and the evolution of the Nike retail business. They will build and develop impactful and scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments. This designer will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete individual projects by using design processes and standard methodologies to ensure the creative intent, design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met.

What you will work on

If this is you, you will build, refine and evolve the fixture and environmental design components across the full Nike stores portfolio, you will be working across different project stages for interior spaces with a focus on fixture design across multiple concepts. This position requires a forward thinking, detail-oriented and design-minded creative, that builds from the global creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects. You will work independently and with a team to develop and lead all fixture and 3D environmental components, factoring in the needs of the consumer, the brand and our business partners. You will communicate and present design concepts to the creative director and build 3D models and details that optimally communicate design intent as well as produce project production.

Who you will work with

Under the direction of a design director, you will collaborate in the development of innovative and original retail fixture programs that reflect Nike’s design ethos and improve the consumer retail experience. You will deliver thoughtful fixture design solutions that meet the business and creative requirements to elevate Nike’s product storytelling and display needs as well as small-scale environmental moments such as pop-ups. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Nike as well as external design partners, fabrication agencies, store design and marketing teams.

You may travel five to fifteen per cent of the time.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, industrial or product design and eight-plus years design experience
  • retail design industry/environments experience preferred; retail environments, concepts and programmes, fixture design
  • extensive knowledge of design processes
  • advanced knowledge of computer systems (SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Suite, Grasshopper, ACAD); After Effects, Twin Motion, etc are a plus
  • ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development thoughts ideation
  • knowledge and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and in furniture design, product innovation, fashion and athletics specifically
  • strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • strong ability to optimally communicate concepts and design intent to senior creative team
  • proficient in presentation and collaboration tools (Keynote, Miro, Slack, etc)
  • ability to expertly screen and lead contractors/external vendors including design and production studios/agencies
  • ability to develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions and geographies
  • workstream management
