Project architect

dRMM is looking for a project architect to join its team in London, UK.
dRMM are radical makers of sustainable, socially useful architecture with studios in London and Berlin. We work on innovative projects across various scales and sectors in the UK, Germany and overseas. Our newly fitted-out studio on Coate Street offers a sociable and relaxed atmosphere in which our team play a full and active role, with opportunities for team members to become involved in wider studio activities and extracurricular events. We are B-Corp certified.
We are looking for a motivated project architect or project architectural designer with one to two years’ experience in this role, to run medium-to-large-scale projects independently. Experience in residential projects is beneficial. You will manage the workload of a project team, oversee team members, and engage with project-running duties. Responsibilities will include coordinating design team actions; running design team meetings; liaising with clients and statutory authorities; and developing architectural solutions from concept to technical design and construction stages.
Experience of working to high environmental standards is advantageous. You will have a good understanding of building regulations and best practice, and be able to evidence that you have the correct skills, knowledge and behaviour to undertake the role.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organised and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines efficiently. You will be energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with an eye for detail as well as the big picture. You will be able to develop and maintain excellent relationships and dialogue with colleagues and collaborators at all levels, including our directors, management team, architects and the other departments in the practice.
Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite and Revit is a minimum requirement; knowledge of Rhino, SketchUp, Vectorworks, AutoCAD and rendering software is advantageous.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience.
Working pattern: this is a full-time role from our studio on Coate Street, E2. We offer up to two days of homeworking per week, with core working hours to allow flexible start and finish times.
