Senior sales representative
at Beams Renovation

Beams Renovation is hiring a senior sales representative to join its team in London.

About Beams

Beams is a technology-enabled home renovation marketplace based in East London. We connect homeowners with vetted builders and provide the structure that the renovation industry currently lacks: clear pricing, proper contracts, managed payments and ongoing support throughout the build.

We don’t manage projects day to day; builders do. What we provide is the framework around them: the tools, accountability, and clarity that help projects run well. Think of us as the operating system for renovation.

We’re around 30 people. We launched in 2022 and recently achieved B Corp certification. We generate strong inbound demand, which means our sales team spends its time helping people who’ve already raised their hand, not cold-calling strangers.

About the role

Most sales jobs are outbound, target-heavy and transactional. This one is different.

As a senior sales planner, you’ll be one of our strongest individual performers, driving your own pipeline of renovation projects while helping to raise the overall level of the sales team around you. You’ll be the person junior planners turn to when a deal gets complicated, a customer goes quiet or a conversation needs a more experienced hand.

This is a role for someone who genuinely loves selling and who also gets energy from helping others do it better. You’ll be actively closing deals every week while informally coaching, supporting, and developing the planners around you. As the team grows, this naturally evolves into a more formal people management role.

If you want to come in, hit numbers and keep your head down, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you want to sell, lead by example and help shape how a fast-growing sales team operates, it is.

What you’ll be doing:

  • owning your own sales pipeline: you’ll handle a high volume of inbound leads (typically 15 to 20 per week), taking customers from first conversation through to signed contract; that means discovery calls, builder introductions, quote reviews, and closing; our average sales cycle is around two months, and our average project value is £35k
  • supporting junior planners with live deals: you’ll be a go-to resource when team members hit a wall — a customer who’s gone cold, an objection they’re not sure how to handle, a deal that needs a fresh perspective; you won’t have direct reports straight away, but your judgement and experience will directly influence how others perform
  • contributing to onboarding and training: as we grow the team, you’ll play an active role in bringing new planners up to speed, sharing your approach to discovery, objection handling and deal management; we’re building our playbook as we go, and your input will help shape it
  • developing our process for complex deals: some projects are larger, longer and involve more moving parts; you’ll help develop and refine the way we approach these, identifying where deals stall, what objections come up most and how we can improve our conversion at every stage of the funnel
  • maintaining CRM discipline: you’ll use HubSpot as your primary tool, logging every deal, note and follow-up; your pipeline data matters to the wider team for forecasting and planning, so good habits here are important

What we’re looking for:

  • a strong, proven sales performer: you’ve consistently hit and exceeded targets in a consultative sales environment; you understand the full sales cycle (from discovery to close) and you know how to keep deals moving without pushing customers away
  • experience in a relevant industry: a background in property, interior design, construction, or a similar client-facing role is a strong advantage; you don’t need to be a builder, but being able to hold a credible conversation about renovation projects (scope, budget, timelines) matters
  • a natural mentor: you’re the kind of person who other salespeople gravitate towards when they’re stuck; you enjoy sharing what you know, giving feedback on calls and helping people improve — not because it’s in your job description, but because it’s how you’re wired
  • a structured approach to pipeline management: you keep your CRM up to date, you know where every deal stands and you’re honest about what’s likely to close and when; leadership can rely on your data
  • comfort in a startup environment: things change, processes evolve so you’ll need to be adaptable, take initiative and be willing to help build things that don’t exist yet, not just follow a finished playbook

Most people will have four to eight years in consultative or high-volume sales, ideally in property, design, construction or professional services. If you’ve also had some experience mentoring or managing others, even informally, that’s a real plus.

What success looks like

At 30 days:

  • you’ve completed onboarding and are handling inbound leads independently
  • you can talk about Beams with confidence
  • you’ve already started spotting things you’d improve about the sales process

At 90 days:

  • you’re consistently hitting your sales target
  • junior planners are coming to you with questions and finding your input genuinely useful
  • you’ve started contributing observations that improve how the team operates

At 6 months:

  • you’re one of the team’s top performers
  • you’ve helped develop the playbook in ways that others can learn from
  • you’re informally managing a portion of the team’s development, with a clear path towards a more formal leadership role if that’s the direction you want to take

Package:

  • salary: £45-55k base, depending on experience
  • commission: milestone-based, tied to projects signed, OTE is uncapped, strong performers are earning £70-90k+ total
  • share options: included in every offer
  • annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
  • learning budget: annual allowance for professional development
  • hybrid working: 3 days in our East London office, 2 from home

Diversity and inclusion

We’re building a team that reflects the range of people we serve. Different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives make us better at what we do.

We particularly encourage applications from people who’ve worked in trades, property, or client-facing roles in non-corporate settings. If you don’t meet every requirement listed above, apply anyway. We’re more interested in how you think than in a tidy CV.
