Project architect
at Hope Dusek Architects

Hope Dusek Architects is hiring a project architect to join its team in London.

Build your career, not just another project

Hope Dusek Architects is seeking an ambitious project architect to join our growing studio and play a key role in shaping the growth of the practice.

This is a rare opportunity for a recently qualified architect who is ready to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility, direct exposure to practice leadership, and a clear pathway towards senior leadership within a growing architectural business.

Unlike many larger practices where progression can be slow and opportunities limited, we offer a structured route for professional development, increasing responsibility and promotion based on performance. For the right individual, this role has the potential to develop into a long-term position with a pathway towards Associate and ultimately Director-level responsibilities.

The opportunity

You will initially lead the delivery of a significant historic retrofit and redevelopment project involving a listed office building that will become the future headquarters of an established construction company.

Alongside this flagship project, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of commissions across multiple sectors, allowing you to develop broad experience across all RIBA stages and build the skills required to manage projects from concept through to completion.

This role offers a level of autonomy rarely available at this stage of an architect’s career. You will be trusted to take ownership of projects, make decisions, manage client relationships and coordinate consultants while receiving direct support and mentoring from the company directors.

What you’ll be doing:

  • leading and coordinating the technical delivery of complex architectural projects
  • managing projects through multiple RIBA work stages, from early design through to construction and completion
  • producing and coordinating Stage 4 technical information
  • managing planning conditions and statutory approvals
  • coordinating consultants and wider project teams
  • attending client meetings, site visits and design workshops
  • developing client relationships and contributing to project strategy
  • supporting the continued growth and development of the practice

What makes this role different

Career progression with clear direction

We believe talented architects should know where they are heading. As the practice grows, opportunities will exist for progression into senior management, team leadership and director-level responsibilities for those who demonstrate the capability and ambition to do so.

Exposure to the full project lifecycle

You won’t be confined to a single project stage or project type. You’ll gain experience across design, planning, technical delivery, construction and client management, developing the skills needed to become a well-rounded project leader.

Direct access to leadership

You will work closely with the practice directors, gaining insight into design, technical delivery, business development, client management and practice leadership.

Real responsibility

This role is ideal for someone ready to move beyond supporting projects and begin leading them. You’ll be trusted to take ownership while being supported by an experienced leadership team.

Flexible working

We operate as a modern practice with remote working at the core of our business. We value results, professionalism and trust rather than presenteeism.

About you

We are looking for an architect who is:

  • ARB registered and RIBA qualified
  • typically two to five years’ post-Part 3 qualification, although exceptional candidates at other levels will be considered
  • confident producing technical and construction-stage information
  • ambitious and motivated to progress into senior leadership roles over time
  • comfortable taking ownership of projects and client relationships
  • organised, proactive and self-motivated
  • interested in developing broad experience across all project stages
  • experienced in retrofit, refurbishment or heritage projects (desirable)
  • familiar with Vectorworks or willing to learn (desirable)

  • structured annual performance bonus scheme
  • fully remote working with flexibility around location
  • direct mentoring from practice directors
