Technical interior designer
at Bluebottle
Bluebottle is looking for a technical interior designer to join its team in London.
This designer will work on a number of projects at any one time, providing creative design solutions from the initial brief, to putting together pitch documents, to on-site assistance, liaising with the client, contractor and their team up to the handover of the project.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all elements involved within the design process of implementing projects of all sizes.
Duties will include:
- at least three years experience of working for architectural/interior practices
- experience in developing technical drawing packages from concept drawings to full construction packages
- excellent detail understanding and experience of high-end joinery packages
- ability to work within a busy environment with projects running in conjunction
- proactively helping problem-solving to overcome architectural and technical problems
- liaising with consultants and coordinating projects
- writing of specifications and schedules
- ability to prepare planning drawings and applications.
- work independently organising daily duties, managing deadlines, set up meetings and report back to project leads and directors regularly throughout any project
- software knowledge Vectorworks, Sketchup, Photoshop, Indesign, Excel, NBS spec2/8
Reports to: head of design.
This position involves the individual working alone or alongside other Designers. It requires a low level of supervision by the head of design. Performance evaluations are conducted by the directors who has the responsibility with approval from the managing director for determining promotions, training, termination and salary increases.
All applicants must have the following qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to be considered for this role:
- eligibility to work in the UK
- a good UK degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related subject
- considerable design experience
- ability to provide conceptual & creative design ideas
- knowledge of building regulations, planning and fire regulations
