Anne Kyyrö Quinn is looking for a production team leader – textile workshop, to join its firm in London.
Leading bespoke interior textiles designer Anne Kyyrö Quinn is offering an exciting opportunity to join her highly skilled and dynamic team in her London studio.
We are looking for a very skilled and proactive person who will lead and work closely with the studio team to handcraft AKQ’s unique art installations for her international client base.
The production team leader will join our fast-paced studio, leading the production team in creating AKQ’s bespoke pieces for some incredible high-profile commissions.
The right candidate must be able to handle multiple projects, ensuring each is finished ahead of schedule to a high standard. You will have great communication skills, being confident in liaising with and managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
We are looking for a good team player, who will hit the ground running with a can-do attitude, curious mind and a creative flair.
Role and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- ensuring the smooth running of the production studio, leading and being a part of the production team, helping with daily production tasks of bespoke art textile pieces. This will generally involve cutting fabrics, sewing and upholstering pieces
- managing the studio team, delegating tasks and ensuring that materials are being used efficiently
- calculating, costing and ordering materials for each project
- preparing samples to be sent to clients and ensure that all work is perfect and meets AKQ high standards
- arranging for and managing the packing and shipping of finished projects
- building and installing trade shows and exhibitions
Qualities we’re looking for:
- degree and background in art/design with a minimum of two years’ experience
- previous experience in a team-leading role in a studio or workshop environment
- confident and skilled using industrial sewing machines
- a keen interest and knowledge in art, textiles, design and technology- someone who is inspired by their environment
- very strong attention to detail
- ability to handle large scale cutting plans and manoeuvre large quantities of fabric
- good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects and work to a schedule
- numerical skills
- ability to work independently and work calmly under pressure
- responsible and reliable team player
- excellent spoken and written English
- must be flexible and able to travel (nationally and internationally)
