Salary: pro rata of from £41,520 to £52,227 per annum (inclusive of London allowance)
Part-time: 21 hours per week

Interiors at the Cass (London Metropolitan University) is a cluster of several related UG and PG courses in the Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design. It offers students an excellent grounding in the interiors industry with a hands-on, real-world approach to creative practice and process which is central to the culture of the Cass. It gives students the experience and choice of a wide range of opportunities in the interiors sector that lead to excellent employment outcomes.

About the post

We are seeking to employ an experienced, qualified and highly motivated interiors practitioner with significant teaching experience so that, alongside teaching, assessment and feedback, the successful applicant will be able to contribute to course administration, recruitment, quality assurance and annual monitoring. The role entails significant academic, pastoral and studio practice support for students. The successful candidate will be expected to be proactive in initiating strategies for enhancing the student learning experience and work-readiness. They will be responsible for developing the curriculum and approaches to teaching and learning while ensuring that students graduate with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the competitive professional arena of interior design. The appointee will understand the context and debates current in interior design and the theoretical and historical issues that underpin the discipline and will be able to bring a personal position to teaching across UG and PG courses. 

The appointee will work as part of the Interiors team planning and facilitating live projects, and utilising their professional networks to enhance the external-facing reputation of the course, school and the university. A sound understanding of the contemporary HE landscape in respect of the use and importance of datasets in relation to student satisfaction, progression, retention and employment outcomes is essential.
