Piercy&Company is recruiting a head of finance to join its firm in London.
A multi-award-winning architectural practice, Piercy&Co is looking for a head of finance to help support the business’ exciting vision. The practice adopts a fun, flexible and collaborative office environment that promotes creativity and innovation.
Reporting to the board, this role is varied and will count on management account experience to provide the company with its highest level of accounting knowledge. In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance to the board of directors in making short and long-term business decisions.
This position requires a proactive, commercially focused individual, who is passionate about design and innovation, with excellent attention to detail. It requires someone who is comfortable taking responsibility of their own work as the sole finance person in the business.
Main responsibilities:
- production and presentation of monthly management accounts including; balance sheet, profit and loss, budget comparisons and income forecasts
- management of company bank accounts
- cash flow forecasting and reporting
- company budget production
- project finance and reporting
- monitoring company fixed assets, loans and leases
- liaison with external accountants for annual statutory accounts
- VAT and statutory tax compliance
- supervising part-time bookkeeper role
- companies house updates
- payroll, pension and insurance
- financial analysis and strategic advice to board
- continuous improvement and implementation of new finance systems
Requirements:
- ACCA/CIMA part-qualified
- Sage 50 or Xero knowledge preferable
- strong Excel skills
- excellent communication and organisational skills
- attention to detail is crucial
- experience in a creative, design or architectural business is preferable
- knowledge in implementing new finance systems
