Nicemakers is seeking an interior draftsman to become part of its team in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Interior draftsman
Our full-time draftsman based in or around Amsterdam is responsible for a large part of the drawing work and technical output of the design process within Nicemakers. You work under the direction of the head of design and the project lead to translate briefs into production drawings, to actively contribute to the development of the studio’s creative designs and to produce an exceptionally high standard of drawing work. Besides this we would like to see a strong work ethic and the ability to handle high volumes of work in tight deadlines, while being organised throughout several commercial and residential projects simultaneously.
Role description:
- interiors draftsman
- responsible for Vectorworks-based solutions, applicable to translating the design
- provide support to the team relating to technical details
- research technical drawing solutions suited to each project with no ‘cookie cutting’ approach
- contribute to the creative design direction with construction and technical knowledge
- strong knowledge of Millwork construction details
- effectively translating visual references and materials into drawings packages
Qualification and skills:
- minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role within the creative industry
- in-depth knowledge of Vectorworks (including material rendering), SketchUp, Adobe package (Illustrator and Photoshop are essential)
- experience in residential design and commercial design sectors
- preferably also experienced in custom furniture design
- problem-solving creative approach
- excellent organisational and time management skills
- interest and awareness of the creative/design industry
- strong attention to detail and excellent accuracy
- fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- positive, pro-active attitude
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- EU citizen or appropriate working permit essential
