De Zwarte Hond is looking for a head of PR/communications to join its agency in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
De Zwarte Hond is a design agency for architecture and urban planning with around 100 employees with offices in Cologne, Rotterdam and Groningen. Through sustainable entrepreneurship, capitalizing on opportunities and craftsmanship, the agency has grown from a regionally operating agency into an (inter) national player. We are modest about our performance and at the same time infinitely ambitious.
Over the years we have become what we are now, a professional design agency that can handle complex tasks. With a combination of social commitment and design expertise, we make the Netherlands and Germany better and more beautiful. We design and advise on all scales, from interior to regional projects. Our clients are very diverse and the work we do is socially relevant and of a special aesthetic.
But we want to go beyond that. We are ready to take the next step in our development, focused on the future. We are looking for someone to join us in making this next step. Someone who shows the special and the essence of De Zwarte Hond and shows that our tough decisions also follow.
Someone who understands that we not only want experience in our communication but also guts. Someone with whom we get the feeling that you are a good fit for us, who has a good understanding of things that matter and who dares to do this with a club of nine partners.
We are looking for a head of PR and communication, based in Rotterdam
Are you this new colleague with:
- HBO or university level training in marketing, communication, public relations or architecture (history)
- strong affinity with the creative sector
- a minimum of seven years of (managerial) work experience
- preferably experience at an office for architecture and/or urban planning
- strong communication skills (assertive and initiative)
- both independence and team spirit
- experience in press approach, preferably with an existing (international) network in public media and trade press
- courage, to work closely with partners, to translate corporate vision into communication strategies that will contribute to our international growth
- out-of-the-box thinking
- a drive to get things done, one way or the other
- experience with developing international communication plans, creating visibility, positioning and monitoring identity/corporate identity
- experience with internal communication and creating, and increasing engagement among employees
- availability 32-40 hours per week
- a helicopter view, someone who can delegate to the PR team and monitor progress
- good command of the Dutch and English language, German is an advantage
