Mid-weight interior designer
Kibre is recruiting for a mid-weight interior designer at its studio in London.
Kibre Ltd works on design-led residential projects across the UK, delivering the interior design and FF&E throughout the projects for institutional and private clients. We are looking for an experienced mid-weight interior designer to lead projects working on a range of projects across the UK. This role will require the ability to work at all stages of a project including concept, schematic design, design development and construction documents. The role requires experience in hospitality interior design.

Responsibilities:
- form concept designs for new projects
- deliver detailed CAD tender packs for each project and working with the team
- ensure the design and quality is delivered on each scheme alongside the project manager
- resolve design challenges and issues alongside the team. Liaise with clients directly ensuring all information is issued in a timely manner and problems solved where required
- enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic team on a diverse range of projects
Qualities and skills required:
Essential:
- legally able to work in the UK
- a minimum of five years’ experience working on hospitality focused projects
- a strong understanding of FF&E and interior design
- an industry recognised diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
- can differentiate the needs of different ‘styles’ and ‘looks’ and deliver those styles without letting personal preferences impact choices
- able to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
- able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction
- excellent organisational skills
- able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- understanding the designers role in the coordination and integration of project information and management
- able to manage junior and intermediate designers on the team
- able to use: MS Office, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign
Desirable skills:
- understanding financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget
- experienced in ‘lighting’ as a design element, knows how to use lighting and shadows for drama and impact
- Estmac or EstiPC experience
