Suited Interior Design is seeking a senior interior designer with ten+ years’ hospitality experience in high-end hotel design to join its team in London.
We are looking for a senior member to join our design collective of ‘free-range designers’.
As a design collective, we share a dedication to craft beyond our projects; we also craft our careers. Each of us has broken away from the office, the commute and the confines of fixed methodology.
Our talent lies in our ability to develop an unprecedented design story and are looking for a creative conceptual senior designer with a strong understanding of hospitality design across the globe, a broad understanding of hotel brands and a keen ability to research and set a design direction for a project.
We use design and narrative to correctly position a hotel within its market while also developing its operational functionality and are looking for someone with deep-rooted hotel design experience based in operational knowledge.
You will be responsible for pitching for new projects, running projects from concept to completion, client liason, enhancing team members design ideas, contractor and consultant communication and coordination, managing project timelines, managing project budgets and structuring team workloads to ensure all required deadlines are met and a successful project is delivered.
The successful candidate will have:
- 10+ years of experience in hotel design and familiarity with both public space design and room design. Restaurant designers or spa design candidates will be considered if some room design and build experience is included
- innovative design thinking, strong research skills, a desire and love of travel and culture and an understanding of how to implement design direction and/or set design direction
- ability to put together a mood/material board and familiarity with suppliers and new products for the interior design profession
- experience with both the FF&E and interior architectural/technical side of design as it related to a hotel. Autocad experience and experience in putting together design drawing sets through all RIBA stages. Fully detailed interior design packages with technical design knowledge for interior elements- from interior architecture, joinery and FF&E
- experience and knowledge of the process of hotel design in relation to the client and operator structure and ability to communicate to both effectively to gain trust and implement a design solution
- on-site experience and knowledge of building in both new build situations, renovation situations and historical building conversions
- knowledge of project management both internally and on-site and the ability to communicate and coordinate with large project consultant teams
