Watershedd is hiring an architectural technician with relevant experience in residential projects to join its team working remotely in Cornwall, UK.

Watershedd is a unique design-led architecture and development company based in London and Cornwall working on high-end new-build houses and refurbishments for coastal and country homes across the UK. We are looking for an ambitious team member to join us with relevant construction phase experience in delivering residential projects.

We are currently working remotely due to the Covid-19 lockdown, and flexible working will be considered once the office reopens fully.

Responsibilities:

  • producing tender and construction phase drawing packages.
  • producing drawings for planning applications and detailed tender packages.
  • liaising directly with external consultants e.g. structural and mechanical engineers to obtain specific technical details to include within drawings
  • attending on-site meetings and managing queries as required.

Skills:

  • technical – demonstrable examples of technical drawings (building scale and detail) which illustrates your understanding of UK building regulations, LABC, NHBC and associated construction guidance and third-party warranty requirements
  • project management – the ability to work on simultaneous projects with a quick turnaround of thorough, detailed, accurate drawings
  • contract administration – understanding and experience administering building contracts, issuing instructions and dealing with RFI’s
  • teamwork – we work very much as a team and make decisions together. It is important that you enjoy working as part of a team and individually when required
  • demonstrated ability to lead a project team to prepare detailed and fully coordinated working drawing packages within agreed timescales
  • managing tender processes: documentation, issuing and analysing
  • Vectorworks and knowledge of 3D modelling would be beneficial

Essential: Relevant qualifications (ideally MCIAT) Current eligibility to work in the UK and good written and spoken English.
