PLP Architecture is seeking a sustainability lead to join its team in London.
PLP Architecture is a London-based group of architects, designers and thinkers who value the transformative role of ideas and the capacity for architecture to inspire. PLP has created some of the world’s smartest and sustainable buildings that have redefined what it means to live and work in today’s cities. The practice’s in-house think tank, PLP Labs, is a research collaborative that develops concepts and technologies aimed at the future development of urban living.
PLP is currently designing projects across three continents and has buildings under construction in the UK, The Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, Singapore and Japan. Notable work in a diverse portfolio includes 22 Bishopsgate, Sky Central and Bankside Yards in London, Tree House and The Edge in Amsterdam, Corso Como Place in Milan, and the new Yandex Headquarters in Moscow.
PLP Architecture seeks an accomplished professional with a proven track record in this discipline to work collaboratively with us to define and drive our commitment to sustainability at a strategic level.
The candidate will help define the practices goals on carbon reduction and environmentally responsible design methods.
The successful candidate will work with the senior management and project teams to implement and operate relevant sustainability software to projects in the office which include operational carbon, climate, solar, microclimate, parametric generation of massing based on environmental drivers and embodied carbon. They will be familiar in using Revit plugins and tool kits for projects to make decisions.
The successful candidate will ensure the implementation of internal staff training. They will develop lessons learnt tools, POE methodology, project toolkits and the introduction of regular sustainability reviews of projects.
Strong and clear communication skills are essential together with a passion to drive sustainability and its importance within the practice.
This is a full-time position with benefits, based in our London office. An architectural or engineering background is preferred.
