Global store design manager

Charlotte Tilbury is seeking a global store design manager to join its team in London.
We are looking for the next retail design disruptor to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an integral role for the day to day operating of the store design team at Charlotte Tilbury. Supporting key store design projects both in the physical and virtual world , originating new concepts to be always ahead of competitors, producing strategic and disruptive design outputs, monitoring all processes from initial creative concept to store opening. Supporting the head of store design and the department director by taking the lead in key projects, always pushing boundaries and proposing continuous innovation, being the best partner for the rest of the global teams and regions.
Responsibilities:
- you will be working alongside the Head of store design to help translate Charlotte’s vision and unique expertise on how to communicate with customers
- lead Charlotte Tilbury’s brand codes across all store design elements, expressing the strength of the brand aesthetically and commercially. From the initials sketching to the preparation of floor plans, storefront elevations, and renderings to support new distribution across different markets. It is part of this role to manage various processes involved from creating the best layouts, maximizing brand expression in a new store, monitoring creative development, technical drawings, approvals, costs, and opening schedules
- you need to be able to originate new concepts for both physical retail and online/VR stores, design and propose a complete 360 degree retail theatre, fully integrate in our omnichannel shopping journey, considering both physical retail and e-comm, social media impact and including retailtainment and digital retailtainment
- oversee architectural, mechanical and structural components
- control the preparation of the design pack for internal approval and external/retailers sign of process for own projects
- understand and interpret local building codes, integrating comprehensive design solutions compliant with local and regional regulations
- implement brand matrices/guidelines and respond quickly to changing business conditions, design prototypes, or material developments. Manage outside suppliers to execute design development and construction documents. Review and approve construction documents by suppliers/licensees for adherence to design standards
- adhere to design prototype standards and develop site-specific design solutions that are consistent with prototype design intentions and brand codes
- ensure that the execution of assigned projects is in alignment with brand strategy, project schedules and project budgets
- control CPA for all store design projects assigned
- communicate effectively via verbal and drawing skills; understands and tailors presentations to the audience (internal and external)
- attend installation of new stores monitoring standards and snagging issues
- identify and propose solutions to resolve issues that can impact project schedule, cost, or design integrity on multiple projects
The person:
- architecture or interior design degree
- must have the following technical proficiency: 3D design in Sketchup, Vectorworksand/or AutoCAD, Microsoft office (basic Word and Excel programs), InDesign and Photoshop skills
- good knowledge of graphic design and use of the Adobe Creative suite with mandatory Photoshop-Illustrator and basic InDesign
- proficient sketching and rendering skills to communicate ideas
- strong project management skills and examples to prove this. Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines and big pressure
- demonstrate appropriate level of business acumen while staying current on design trends and competitive patterning
- best partner with marketing, creative agency, VM, digital, tech and regions, working cross-functional projects requested by senior stakeholders
- focused on quality and implementation processes. Store design is an extension of our products, high quality with exceptional standards across all executions
