Model making technical instructor

The Royal College of Art is seeking a model making technical instructor to join its team in London.
We are looking for an experienced, adaptable, dynamic, highly motivated and outcome-focused person to work with our technical support team at the Royal College of Art.
The day job as a model making technical instructor:
Providing technical instruction, support, advice and demonstrations in model making, prototyping, CNC and laser cutting. Working with a range of materials including wood, plastics and manufactured boards.
Supporting the growth of 3D making equipment, software and services across the College, including the buying and setting up of new equipment and services.
Ongoing learning through making and skills sharing as part of a dynamic team.
Maintaining specialist equipment and safety and keeping accurate records.
Supporting college teaching, learning and research activity that may require 3D making knowledge and skills as appropriate.
What you will need to have:
- knowledge in laser cutting and other relevant processes and techniques for CNC milling
- demonstrable knowledge of health and safety best practice within a lab environment, including an understanding of COSHH and Risk Assessment procedures
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- the ability to use initiative and work as part of a team.
- excellent organisational, time management, planning and problem-solving skills
- excellent user focus and a flexible approach
