Architectural technician

STAC Architecture is currently looking for an architectural technician to join its busy London team.
STAC Architecture is a young design orientated practice that places the importance of design excellence at the forefront of everything we do.
STAC bring together and fuse craft, design, architecture and art in a bid to create functional works of art that harmonise with their natural environment.
We are a vibrant design studio of 8-10 individuals from around the world that focuses on innovation, collaboration and making, constantly questioning the boundary of what is possible within the realms of art, architecture, interiors and product design.
STAC specialises in residential and restaurant/retail design sectors as well as product design and public pavilions.
We would like to hear from architectural technicians with a minimum of three years experience post final qualification.
Temporary short term contract (six months) permanent role dependant on experience.
The role necessitates an excellent understanding of detail design and experience with running jobs on site would be beneficial.
As well as a proven track record for technical detail design and job running each candidate will be required to demonstrate that they are self-motivated, organised and willing to work as part of a wider team.
Salary will be determined on an individual basis for the relevant amount of experience and ability to fulfil the needs of the role.
Key criteria:
- relevant qualification and three years experience post qualification
- good knowledge of joinery detailing and specialist finishes
- confident in technical detailing and communication with excellent written and spoken english
- experienced in technical detail design with proven ability to creatively solve complex construction details
- clear understanding of materials, both traditional and new
- ability to work within a team
- a full understanding of translating design concepts into building assembly
- adept at carrying out detailed coordination with other consultants
- excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
- proven experience in the delivery of projects through RIBA stages four-seven, including production and coordination of all projects drawings and information
- extensive experience in delivering tender and construction packages
- excellent and current knowledge of UK building regulations
Role:
- work alongside and support design teams with design development and construction documents
- production of tender and construction packages – drawings, schedules and specifications
- detail and execute fast tracked projects with ease
- report to senior members of the team and director re: job status, workload, resourcing etc.
- to provide support for younger more inexperienced staff during the construction stages of projects
Nice to have:
- Vectorworks experience
- Mac experience
- experience in NBS specification writing
- Rhino in a bid to support detailed design and fabrication
Interviewees will be expected to:
- show examples of completed drawing packages – from GA’s : floor plans and sections through to construction detail drawings (1:5 / 1:2 scale)
- demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK (without restriction)
