Askew Cavanna Architects is currently seeking a recently qualified Part 3 architect to join its growing practice in Bristol, UK.
The position will be maternity cover in the first instance, and we anticipate the possibility of becoming a long term member of the team, with potential to contribute to the development of the practice. We will also consider a Part 2 graduate if you have the right experience.
The Practice has a busy workload on a range of projects, including residential, workspaces and community projects, both with existing buildings and new build projects.
Our live projects include:
- a new net zero workspace for a town council
- supporting a community of self-builders involved in an innovative low-energy community build project in north Bristol
- five houses being converted from a former poultry shed
- various design-led, residential retrofit and extension projects, including heritage buildings
We are based in our own studio workspace in Stokes Croft. We operate a flexible working pattern.
You will ideally have a recognised Part 3 qualification with two to four years’ experience, particularly in detailing buildings, although we would expect you to be involved in all stages of projects. You will have an enthusiasm for sustainable design and looking to strengthen your position as a project architect.
You should have good technical and presentation skills. You should have a good understanding of spoken English and be able to write clearly. CAD skills will also be useful (we use Vectorworks), but equally important will be your enthusiasm.
