Mid-weight interior designer

Liz Linkleter Events is seeking a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

The role

Reporting into company director Liz Linkleter and Jess Ruff our creative director, the mid-weight interior designer will play a key part in the development and execution of two large interior design projects- a countryside property and a city property. The designer will work alongside our creative director to manage the design and development of the projects from concept to completion including scheduling, design, budgeting, procurement, furniture sourcing and specification and onsite installation.

The designer will play a vital role in both projects, managing day-to-day client contact and undertaking all relevant supplier liaison.

This is a new part of our business and the role provides an exciting opportunity for a confident and ambitious designer to grow within their role and contribute to the business.

This is a two year project contract with the possibility of extension. Working five days a week, Monday to Friday.

Salary dependent on experience.

Location

Flexible working available, but with a minimum of three days per week working from our London studio based in Hackney E8.

Main duties:

  • day to day project management- design development, specifications of projects, design budgets, sourcing
  • manage changes and revisions to project, adhering to project contracts, schedules and budget
  • ensure an accurate record of the project is kept – notes from meetings and all decisions and conversations recorded in writing
  • day to day client management – be confident in building our client relationship, preparing client presentations, attend client meetings, presenting plans and information for review and approval
  • supplier managemen – building our supplier database and working to build supplier relationships across the board
  • produce accurate drawings, plans and specifications, using AutoCAD or Vectorworks, where appropriate
  • manage and maintain project records on Estimac
  • play a key role in managing the procurement stage of the project, ensuring correct specification in placing orders and ensuring supplier invoices are recorded and processed efficiently
  • onsite duties will include site visits before, during and after installation to ensure progress and adherence to plans

Skills required:

  • a minimum of three years’ experience working on residential projects
  • independent and pro-active way of working
  • excellent time management skills
  • enthusiasm and a can-do attitude
  • experience in Estimac software, Vectorworks and Adobe Creative Suite is essential
  • excellent verbal and written communications essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including clients, sub-contractors and architects
  • ability to understand and interpret the Liz Linkleter design ethos
  • creativity and unique thought
  • provide excellent attention to detail
  • plan and organise effectively, managing resources and changes, prioritising work, setting goals, and developing solutions, identifying and resolving problems early
  • knowledge and ability to source of antiques and vintage pieces/furniture is essential
  • knowledge of good specialist suppliers and consultants essential
  • on site project management experience is necessary
  • a well-turned out and professional appearance when client-facing
