Mid/senior level interior designer

Gordon Duff Linton is hiring a mid/senior level interior designer to join its team in London.
We are looking for someone for a mid to senior level interior designer position who has an eye for design, is super-organised, and a self-starter. The person must be able to handle responsibility and will have worked with architects, contractors and fellow design consultants.
We are a small, exciting and dynamic company with a portfolio comprising private client homes (UK and abroad), high-end developments, show flats and commercial premises. Designers should display a willingness to learn new techniques and develop existing skills at all times. At least five years’ UK experience is required. Our design studio is located in Battersea, a short walk from Clapham Junction station.
Role and responsibilities:
- to act as lead designer on projects from concept to completion
- manage and mentor assigned team members and their projects
- ensuring our design meets the brief and is implemented correctly and within budget
- demonstrate an ability to think creatively through active participation in internal team meetings
- comfortable to explore and discuss creative concepts, making suggestions at appropriate stages in the project
- research, prepare and present high-quality designs including concepts, mood boards, room layouts and material boards
- create detailed technical specifications and drawings, including floor plans, bespoke installations, kitchens, bathrooms, reflected ceiling plans, small power plans, joinery and architectural details
- liaise directly with the client, architect, suppliers and building contractors from the studio and on-site including presenting and being a design representative at meetings
- manage FF&E research, sourcing, specification, procurement and supply process
- establish creative strategy, budget and schedules for projects
- ability to manage a number of projects at the same time and ensuring timely delivery of designs
- prepare and/or assist with fee proposals
- demonstrate an ability to communicate with key team members and fellow consultants at each stage of the project
- attend internal review meetings and assist with any issues as they arise
- strong attention to detail
- help with everyday office tasks

Experience:
- five years’ minimum experience
- proven experience and natural creative ability gained through study/previous job roles
- awareness of current trends in interior design
- production of technical drawing packs for relevant trades

- high-end residential experience

- technical understanding of aspects of architectural design, interior and joinery design
- suppliers, craftsmen and tradespeople
- design trends in the industry

Qualifications:
- degree or equivalent in interior design
