Matthew Giles Architects is hiring an interior designer to join its team in London.
Matthew Giles Architects is seeking a highly motivated interior architect/interior designer with a minimum of three years’ work experience in all phases of interior architectural services. At MGA, you will work closely with the project teams to provide leadership in interpreting, organising and executing the interior design for various projects. This individual must possess specialized knowledge of interior architecture for high end residential projects.
The interior architect/designer will be working closely with the architecture team through all stages of the design process from concept to completion. They will be responsible for preparing design presentations including sketches and material boards, working drawings including construction details, joinery details, specifications, etc. Experience in sourcing interior finishes, fixtures, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, hardware and accessories is essential. Candidate will assist in managing FF&E budgets and procurement scheduling.
Requirements:
- degree in interior design or interior architecture
- three plus years’ experience in high end residential projects
- knowledge of local and online showroom and resources, industry trends
- knowledge of and affinity for materials, products and product resources for interior applications
- understanding for the process of translating design concepts into building assemblies, must be able to space plan, provide furniture layouts, develop imagery, and prepare specifications
- experience in detailed technical specifications and drawings, including floor plans, bespoke installations, kitchens, bathrooms, reflected ceiling plans, small power plans, joinery and architectural details
- strong communication and presentation skills
- proficiency in Vectorworks, SketchUp and Adobe Suite
- must be willing to travel to sites around London
- must be authorized to work in the UK
