Basha-Franklin is looking for a senior technical designer to join its team in London.

We are seeking an experienced and proficient senior technical designer to join our growing multi-disciplinary studio to work on several prestigious, design-led projects in London.

Projects

Current projects include an ambitious £20 million refurbishment in Mayfair to create a ‘best-in-class’ office space; and a £12 million office fit-out from shell and core (including bespoke staircases) in Kings Cross.

Our team’s experience is primarily in the commercial office and residential sectors with a significant workstream from some of the UK’s most successful property developers. We can offer you the opportunity of running exciting, challenging projects while getting client-facing experience as well as career progression.

Prerequisite qualifications:

  • RIBA Part 2/Part 3/interior architecture or equivalent qualifications
  • prior post-Part 2 / Part 3 professional practice experience in the UK
  • the right to work or appropriate visa demonstrating the right to work in the UK

Job requirements:

The right candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated team player who can display a suitable range of experience across all RIBA work stages. You will have experience of project delivery in London and UK. You will also need to display experience of technical detailing along with site experience of a large project through to practical completion. You are ideally an ARB registered architect (or equivalent) with a minimum of five to seven years’ post qualification experience. If not registered Architect you will have 10 years plus experience of running high profile commercial projects in the UK. Immediate/shorter notice start preferred.

Skills:

  • experience across all RIBA Stages, but with specific experience of Stages 3 to 5 for workplace/office projects and refurbishment
  • site experience and ability to produce technical, co-ordinated drawing packages, associated scheduling and to co-author write NBS specifications (Uniclass 2015)
  • experience of managing a design team of external consultants and co-ordinating structural and MEP information
  • a passion for producing interesting conceptual ideas, researching new materials and techniques, and innovative detailing
  • ability to put together InDesign documents/presentations and get key ideas across to clients with relevant imagery and text
  • ability to manage meetings and present ideas to the client and other stakeholders verbally and graphically
  • software skills – ArchiCAD or Revit (2D and 3D or the commitment to learn our BIM platform Archicad for which we provide initial in-house training), SketchUp, Adobe CS, NBS Chorus. Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper and Python desirable
  • enthusiasm, motivation, energy, and a sense of humour, strong awareness of current sustainability and ESG factors within the design and construction industry
